Danny Balentine

Our Under 1M Spotlight this week is Danny Balentine! Danny is a small solo artist with just under 6,000 monthly listeners. I discovered him on TikTok from an acoustic guitar short video filmed in his kitchen. I really enjoyed his sound so I explored some of his recent work from his EP, Summer St, which was released a few weeks ago in October. 

His most streamed song “Emma 3000” is a quiet dedication to a special person in his life. The  essential message to me is that he would do anything for her and whenever she calls he will come running. He does this all because he loves her and she keeps him in line. In his eyes she is this perfect hero that has saved his life and made everything so much brighter. My favorite part of the lyrics are when he repeats “Emma 3000 I’m loving on you.” The repetition of this line to me is a little inside to the character of their relationship and a little cute catchphrase that they say to each other. The song is short and sweet and that’s what makes it so genuine.

Overall, I really liked the feel of the song. With a little more production I can see Danny’s career really taking off! Make sure to check him out on streaming services.
