Kai Devega

One of our Under 1M artists this week is the TikTok viral Kai Devega! Kai is super authentic and has a great vibe. His music makes me feel like I’m swaying back and forth on a hammock staring out at the beach. He actually released a brand new single today, “moth to a flame.” His quiet acoustic guitar makes his music super endearing and I believe he is definitely on his way to great success. With that- let’s get into our review. 

His leading single, “blue world,” is a calming track beginning with a clean acoustic guitar. It’s clear from the jump that he’s talking about someone he admires deeply. He listens to everything she says and takes detailed notes about the things she wishes for. He sees her as the center of his universe and wonders what it’s like to be in her shoes. A little fear of change comes into play when he says “And I’m not ready for the change” but an inevitable acceptance follows in the line “But things can’t always stay the same.” This sends out the message to the audience that life goes on and things have to change for people to grow. The track ends short and sweet in a repetition of the lyrics once more against the acoustic guitar. The light open strum at the end puts us in the position to interpret what the entire string of lyrics meant for real. 

The optimistic and light feel of Kai Devega is something I admire. Not everyone has this type of talent to be so uplifting. Keep going Kai! Stream “moth to a flame” now!
